Compress PDF

Shrink file size for e-mail and uploads while keeping documents readable.

Supported: PDF files · up to 25 MB per file

How to use Compress PDF

Compress PDF makes files smaller for e-mail and uploads. Four levels trade image quality against size, and text stays sharp and selectable at every level.

  1. Upload one or more PDFs.
  2. Pick a level: Lossless clean-up, High quality, Recommended, or Maximum compression.
  3. Compress and download.

Good to know

  • Contracts, reports and anything people will search or copy from: use Lossless clean-up.
  • The other three levels shrink the photos and scans inside the PDF; text and drawings stay sharp and selectable.
  • You can compress before or after running OCR: the recognised text layer is kept either way.
  • If a file is already as small as it can get, Papermint keeps the original rather than returning a bigger one.
